The Center is a beacon of hope for Waithaka village and an agent of change through friendship evangelism and discipleship. When completed, the building will house a Medical Center, a Vocational School, and a Missions Guest house. The people of Waithaka village are looking forward to the completion of this project. The following is a description of the proposed building project.
Medical Center
The Family Health center will Treat and Care for those suffering with HIV/AIDS. It will also primarily provide access to medical care for young children and expectant mothers. Young girls will have access to Christian based instructions on feminine hygiene and adolescent health. These services will be provided without cost through medical missions and partnership with local health care volunteers. A medical Lab will be made available to the community where they can test drinking water for water borne viruses and bacteria. The Lab will also serve the community by testing for Aids/HIV virus, Tuberculosis, Cholera, Typhoid, Malaria, and many other common killer diseases.
Vocational Training
The school will train young boys and girls who fail to meet admission requirements for High School or College. They will have hands on experience on Automobile Technology in areas such painting and minor body repairs, brakes, wheel balancing, and alignment. The Dress Making School will provide instructions on repairs and adjustments, cutting and sewing, African fashions and design. There will also be an alternative Office Skills department which will teach basic computer skills and typing.
Guest House
The guest house will provide accomodation for children who are in transition. It will also accommodate short term missionaries during their work in the village.
